Government Prayer Sunday—Transforming Canada Together
Friends,
As we move towards Canada’s 149th birthday on Friday, July 1, 2016, we want to spread the word about the Government Prayer Sunday (GPS) being encouraged on Sunday June 26 by the National House of Prayer. We are encouraging churches to designate a portion of your weekend service(s) to pray for our government, uniting with Christians across Canada and seeking God for our nation. Many politicians have attended a GPS in their region and the reports have been positive. Our political leaders need to know that we care for them and respect the demands and responsibilities they carry, and that we as Christians support them through our prayers. You can read the full letter I received from Rob Parker of the National House of Prayer here.
Last year, out of Mission Canada, we launched Transforming Canada Together. Remarkable kingdom impact is happening in many of the contexts where we serve in affiliation with our Fellowship, but we have provided additional tools and ideas for those who want to celebrate Canada on July 1 throughout their communities in new, creative, strategic ways. We also suggest an outline for an hour of prayer for Canada, where we specifically intercede for our government, unreached parts of our nation, and the communities in which we live.
As always, we recognize that there is strength in our unified prayers and we value your ongoing participation with us in influencing godly outcomes in our government and throughout our nation through sacrificial service. Thank you for partnering with us.
