Location: Cuba, Latin America & the Caribbean
Ministry Focus: Gary works to support and equip the Cuban church to “Retain the Harvest” through pastoral and leadership training through seminars and conferences facilitated by PAOC pastors. Short-term ministry teams from our PAOC churches bring ministry and personal supplies and minister in local churches. They also help with church renovations and the installation of water purification equipment for the church and for the community.
Gary’s “adopt a presbytery” program partners a church in Canada with a presbytery, that can have up to twenty churches in it. They will visit and bless every church in the presbytery annually and send regular offerings to give ongoing support.
Ministry History: In 1991, Gary led a short term missions (STM) team to evangelize at the Pan American Games where God arranged a divine meeting with a local Havana pastor Hector Hunter. At this time there were less than 300 Pentecostal churches on the island most in remote locations that Hunter knew needed love and support from the Canadian church. Through Gary’s encouragement, PAOC churches began sending STM teams to visit and support these remote churches.
In 1999 the revival exploded all over the island and now there are over 2,000 churches and domestic missions, thus began the emphasis to “Retain the Harvest”!
In 2007 Gary introduced Global University to the AG Cuba and now there are over two thousand students getting their training in Bible and Theology from a highly accredited university.
In 2014, God opened the door and now the Cuban church is preparing with the support of PAOC International Missions to send their own missionaries to unreached people groups around the world!
Prayer Requests:
- For safety as he and the STM teams travel across the island
- For more PAOC churches to partner in the adopt a presbytery program
- For God’s hand of provision and protection be on the Cuban church
