Entrepreneurial Business

With a church that is making strides in a new era of increased openness, Azerbaijan is strategically situated in the Caucus region of Central Asia. Political leaders are seeking better standing with Western countries as a vital middle ground along the new Silk Road between China and Europe.  The capital city of Baku is a modern, amenity-filled city funded in large part by the development of oil deposits in the Caspian Sea.

BAM (Business as Mission) offers the best option for long-term engagement in Azerbaijan.  The business environment is ripe for entrepreneurial business ideas that would provide a way to integrate and minister in communities.  Some ideas that could succeed are running a high-end podcast studio, offering pet services or operating a food truck.

Ideal candidates need to possess small business acumen with vision and creativity to find market niches and successfully execute businesses to serve these niches.  Candidates need a high level of flexibility and willingness to endure the economic cycles and bureaucracy of a developing country. Most importantly, candidates will possess an ability to integrate their faith and witness with sensitivity in their business relationships within a majority Muslim context.

A 2-month minimum commitment  is to be expected.

Our Mission Global team will walk with you along the way – from application to deployment. Training, administrative support and mission coaching will be provided, along with assistance for promotional and any necessary fundraising efforts.

Additionally, Mission Global personnel who are familiar with Azerbaijan will be available to help network and advise successful candidates as they begin their journey toward deployment.
