ESL Teacher

Thailand

Purpose

To put it simply, we (Asian Outreach) help people practice and improve their English, and as that happens, we build relationships and communicate the love of God through our actions and our words. With additional fun and relaxed events, and bible storytelling, we are prayerful witnesses to people who haven't had the chance to hear about who Jesus is or what He has done for them.

The Centre is located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and is a non-formal education centre nestled between two large universities. Form relationships with students and spend time with students before and after class, when available/s per the roster.

Skills

You don't need to be an expert in English teaching, but if you enjoy meeting people from a different background and culture, and a desire for them to know of the goodness of God, the centre may be the perfect place for you. TESOL/TEFL Certification is an asset. Previous English teaching experience an asset. Ability to form new friendships. Willingness to take our one month TESOL course if needed.

Full time teachers may be asked to fill a secondary role at the centre – helping with short term teams, orientation, event coordination, creative arts, etc. – so experience in those areas is an asset.

Support

As a global worker or volunteer in the PAOC Southeast Asia region, you would be sent by PAOC International Missions. Direct oversight will be provided by the centre's site director.

Our Mission Global team will walk with you along the way – from application to deployment. Training, administrative support and mission coaching will be provided, along with assistance for promotional and fundraising efforts.
