Ministry Location: Guyana
Ministry Focus: Amar and Nadi recognized the importance of taking Matthew 6:33 literally, to seek Christ’s Kingdom first. So, they decided it is time to return to their country of birth, Guyana, to build Christ-center relationships with especially the youth in low-income communities and in the Amerindian villages. Targeting high school dropouts, Amar intends to utilize his 30-year experience in the automotive industry to teach the youth Automotive Electrical, Diagnostics and Repairs. While Nadi would invest in the lives of the young women, as a mentor and a trusted friend, to help them realize the God-given values and potential in themselves.
As Global Worker candidates, Amar and Nadi’s goal is to first earn the trust of the low-income families and build lasting relationships that would eventually lead them to hope in Christ. At the same time, in collaboration with the Guyana government, make a meaningful contribution to breaking the cycle of poverty in the low-income families. This would be achieved through Skills Trade Training and various soft skills events.
They are also in the planning stages with Global Workers Colin and Dorselie Gittens, to establish Community of Hope, Guyana. A campus that will have a Drop-in café, Trades School, New Life Community Center, and a Wellness Center.
Ministry History: Amar and Nadi became Christians at a very young age in their country of birth, Guyana, when they heard the gospel preached by overseas missionaries. Over the years, they lead seven Short Term Missions’ (STM) teams from their home church, Cedarview Community Church, Newmarket, Ontario to several overseas countries.
