LOCATION: Southeast Asia
TRANSFORMATIONAL IMPACT: Our dream is to make disciples among unreached people groups in the Southeast Asian country we minister in, by planting 1,000 churches by 2032!
MINISTRY FOCUS: We work in a country ravaged by a civil war that has only recently experienced some form of peace. However, the country also faces devastating natural disasters, economic crises, high unemployment, low educational attainment, and the breakdown of the family. Moreover, the people are restricted from hearing the gospel by religious nationalism and government policy; thus, they remain 98% unreached.
We reach out to the largest unreached group in the country, where most practice Buddhism, Hinduism, or Islam. This group also experiences high rates of murder, crime, political corruption, sexual abuse, and domestic violence, which sadly has been largely normalized by society.
Our ministry consists of distributing Bibles and tracts and training church planters; providing a community centre that offers vocational training in computers, sewing, beauty and culture, art, welding, electronics, and auto mechanics; launching small start-up businesses, farming initiatives, and on-the-job training; caring for vulnerable seniors, people with disabilities, widows, and orphans through a feeding program, medical camp, rehab program, and clothing distribution; and offering after-school tutoring, club sports, and counselling.
YOUR IMPACT: Your partnership will help us to plant 17 new churches in the next few years that will bring the hope of reconciliation through a relationship with Jesus Christ!
MINISTRY HISTORY: We have led this ministry here in Southeast Asia for the last decade. Numerous partners from across Canada have supported us. Together with our supporters, we have seen people being spiritually revived, hearts touched, behaviours changed, addictions broken, and diseases healed!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- For 50 ministry workers to receive the call to come to help us with this ever-growing ministry.
- For physical and spiritual protection for our ministry since the army and police have tried to shut down faith-based operations in the country.
- For physical health and well-being for our family since dengue fever, stomach issues, and malaria are very prevalent here.
