LOCATION: Asia
OUR TRANSFORMATIONAL IMPACT: Our vision is to walk alongside 100 global workers in the Asia region, with almost 70% of them serving in restricted access contexts, bringing the gospel to the least reached.
OUR MINISTRY FOCUS: Asia is the most religiously diverse region of the world with a plethora of belief systems, cultures, and religions. Over 62% of Muslims reside in Asia, while 99% of Buddhists and 97% of Hindus live in the region as well. Moreover, Asia contains two thirds of the world’s population with 61% of the world’s unreached people groups living there.
As the regional director for Asia, I (Peter) seek to support our global workers’ health, alignment, and effectiveness as they serve in 20 countries scattered throughout the region. In addition to a large majority of our global workers serving in RAN contexts, we also have many reaching Millennials and Gen Z, as they seek to raise up the next generation of leaders.
Having been global workers for almost 20 years in Asia, we understand what it takes to minister in often hostile environments that many of our global workers in this region experience daily.
OUR MINISTRY HISTORY: In 2002, we began ministering in Thailand, establishing Imagine Thailand, a foundation that creates opportunities for young Thai emerging leaders to help communities in need all throughout the country. In 2012, we relocated to Myanmar where we set up business opportunities to empower local women to develop the necessary skills to support their families. I (Cavelle) spearheaded this project and others to help local communities. In 2016, I (Peter) became the regional director for the Asia region. We continue to engage with the DeBoer Fellowship in Myanmar, a program supporting mid-career leaders bring change to Myanmar. We’re also blessed to have three incredible sons: Matthew, Benjamin, and Charles.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
For God to give our global workers wisdom and strength as they seek to transformationally serve their communities through word and deed.
For God to give us clarity and courage in making strategic decisions for our region.
For God to give us the strength, health, and protection to better serve our global workers and international partners.
