Location: Slovakia, Central Europe
Transformational Impact: Our passion is to see next generation leaders trained to become a church planting movement in Slovakia and throughout Central Europe.
Ministry Focus: With a population of almost six million, Slovakia has only 1.46% professing evangelicals and desperately needs trained church leaders. This is why we focus on discipleship and leadership training at Gateway College, a ministerial training center for the Apostolic Church in Slovakia. The college plays a crucial role in transitioning this post-communist, post-Christian society into an evangelizing, church planting region.
As the president of Gateway College, I (Paul) direct and teach in the college’s Leadership Academy, creating programs, guiding college faculty, and providing visionary leadership. I (Lynn) lecture in theology at the college, while also serving on the pastoral team at Equippers churches both in Nitra, Slovakia, and Budapest, Hungary. I have a unique opportunity to model what it means to be a woman in ministry in a context which has yet to accept women’s calling as pastors.
Your Impact: You will empower young leaders to take the gospel literally to the streets of needy, secular European nations and help change their communities for Christ.
Ministry History: As global workers, we spent 22 years in Kenya at Pan Africa Christian University (1979-1989, 2008-2020) and two years in Ethiopia serving at Pentecostal Theological College and the Abyssinia Missionary Program in Addis Ababa (1998-2000). We also taught for 16 years at Master’s College and Seminary (1992-2008). In 2020, we answered a Macedonia call to transition from Africa to Eurasia. We made the monumental move to Slovakia to develop a second-year program with an emphasis on leadership for Gateway College. I (Lynn) have a Diploma of Theology from Master’s College and Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity International University. I (Paul) have a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfred Laurier University, Master of Theological Studies from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, Master of Arts from Wheaton Graduate School, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Trinity International University.
Prayer Requests:
- For God to develop a healthy Bible college culture in the Apostolic Church.
- For God to grow the number of students attending Gateway College.
- For God to break down barriers for women who feel called into ministry.
