LOCATION: Cuba
MY TRANSFORMATIONAL IMPACT: My vision is to see the Cuban church continue to thrive and grow while also developing their own missional impact to the least reached places around the world.
MY MINISTRY FOCUS: I seek to equip the Cuban church through what we call “Retain the Harvest,” an initiative that seeks to provide pastoral and leadership training through seminars and conferences facilitated by PAOC pastors.
Annually, I organize and lead short-term missions (STM) teams from our PAOC churches, in order to minister to local Cuban churches. We also help with church renovations and the installation of water purification equipment for the church and the surrounding community.
I also oversee our “Adopt a Presbytery” program, that seeks to partner a PAOC church with a Cuban church presbytery, that can consist of upwards 20 churches in its region. The partner PAOC church will care for the church and also send a short-term missions (STM) team to visit churches in the presbytery annually.
YOUR PARTNERSHIP: You will help the Cuban church continue to raise up church leaders, including those desiring to go to other places around the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
MY MINISTRY HISTORY: In 1991, I led a STM team to evangelize at the Pan American Games, happening in Cuba. God arranged a divine meeting between me and a local Havana pastor, which resulted in various PAOC churches to begin sending STM teams to visit fewer than 300 remote churches on the island. In 1999, a revival that began in 1988 exploded all over the island. Today, there are 2,000+ churches! In 2007, I introduced Global University to the Cuban church. More than 2,000 students are now receiving their training in Bible and theology from a highly accredited university. Since 2015, the Cuban church has been sending their own missionaries to least reached people groups around the world!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
For God to keep me and our STM teams safe as we travel across the island.
For God to stir up more PAOC churches to partner in the “Adopt a Presbytery” program.
For God to protect and provide for the Cuban church.
