A Note on Global Outreach Day – May 25, 2019
Global Outreach Day (G.O.D.) is a catalyst to encourage Christ-followers everywhere to share the gospel. We want to encourage our churches and congregation members to review the resources and use them for creative ideas in living out our faith every day, all year, in a way that will impact others who haven’t heard the gospel. Watch this video or download these files and share them widely as inspiration for a lifestyle of evangelism. Congregation members may be interested in this app as well, and can share it with family and friends.

I will declare that Jesus is Lord.
The title “Lord” is meant to convey power, authority, influence, and even the threat of danger if one doesn’t comply with the orders given by someone holding that title. God’s Word proclaims Jesus as Lord. What did Jesus’ example teach us about what that means? And do we declare it to those who’ve never heard it?
The Book of John tells us that Jesus existed from the beginning of time, and that everything we see and know about life was made through Him and with Him present (John 1:1-3). Our personal knowledge of Jesus as Lord comes when we confess our need for Him and He reveals His power to change our hearts and lives through His life, death and resurrection (Romans 10:9). Yet with all His power, when He lived on earth in human form, He demonstrated humility and a desire to serve others—to embody patience, grace, and meeting others’ needs before His own (Mark 10:45). All with the purpose of pointing to the heart of the Father—to reconcile each person to Himself through His Son, whose character reflected His own perfectly (John 1:14).
Many people today are unaware of Jesus’ power as God’s Son, or of His power to change their lives. Commit to declaring what you know about Jesus—that He is Lord. Not merely a powerful earthly figure, a good man or a prophet, but the Creator and Sustainer of heaven and earth, and the One through whom we gain forgiveness of sins, peace with God the Father, and true purpose for our lives, now and for eternity.
Ask and it will be granted…
- That the Holy Spirit will deepen our understanding and appreciation of who Jesus is.
- That we will be given the courage to declare what we know about Jesus to others.
- That the Holy Spirit will soften the hearts of those with whom we share this truth.
- That each follower of Christ will see others lives change as they share that Jesus is Lord.

“And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.”
