July – Missional Vitality – Give, Share

Key Everyday Thought:

What joy for the nation whose God is the LORD, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance (Psalm 33:12).

The Bible reveals God as the Creator of the universe who loves the nations and all its people—so we know that He is passionate about Canada. God’s desire is that the nations acknowledge Him and experience eternal and purposeful life in Him through faith in Christ. As the leaders of a nation honour God in their lives and decisions, He uses them as a conduit for blessings which all their citizens ultimately enjoy. His desire is that each citizen in each nation be provided for in every way—to know that their lives are valuable and that they can experience a life of safety, provision, purpose and peace. While this is not always possible in a world corrupted by sin and the unseen forces of evil, it is what He has asked His children, with His help, to continuously work towards. Let’s place Canada’s future in God’s hands and trust Him to help our leaders to consider how their decisions will impact generations to come.

Pray

Ask and it will be granted…
– That Canada will experience God’s best plans for our nation
– That our nation’s leaders would govern with respect for God’s rule
– That Christian leaders will find favour with government officials
– That Canadian society will be influenced at all levels toward faith in Christ
– That Canadian families will turn to the Lord and experience God’s promises

PASSAGES TO PONDER
Proverbs 14:34
“Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people.”

Proverbs 11:14
“Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers.”

Job 12:23-25
“He builds up nations, and he destroys them.
He expands nations, and he abandons them.
He strips kings of understanding
and leaves them wandering in a pathless wasteland.
They grope in the darkness without a light.
He makes them stagger like drunkards.”

Psalm 22:27
“The whole earth will acknowledge the LORD and return to him.
All the families of the nations will bow down before him.”

Proverbs 2:1-8
“My child, listen to what I say,
and treasure my commands.
Tune your ears to wisdom,
and concentrate on understanding.
Cry out for insight,
and ask for understanding.
Search for them as you would for silver;
seek them like hidden treasures.
Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord,
and you will gain knowledge of God.
For the Lord grants wisdom!
From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him.”

John 10:10
“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
