MISSION CANADA URBAN WORKER
Ministry Location: Edmonton, AB
Ministry Focus: Urban Ministry
Willie Livingstone, originally from Liberia, West Africa, is a born-again believer. He and his wife fled their homeland due to the civil war and were refugees in Guinea, just north of Liberia. There, Willie worked as a classroom teacher for refugees and later as a UNHCR Local Program Officer in the Gender Based Violence Program. He also planted the Independent Church of Jesus Christ in that Muslim-majority nation before migrating to Canada in 2005.
After completing seminary in Canada, the Lord called Willie to prison ministry. Since 2021, Willie has been ministering with a team of three others to inmates at the new Edmonton Remand utilizing The Forgiveness Journey. With Mission Canada, Willie will continue this ministry both inside and outside the prison walls with inmates and those recently released who received the message and gave their lives to Christ. Willie will also minister with food and clothing distribution for homeless people in the streets of Edmonton.
