Location: Kenya, Africa
Ministry Focus: Bernie and Celia manage a teaching facility, Helping Hands, offering vocational training courses, such as weaving and tailoring. They also teach the Transformational Church Leadership Diploma in association with the Pan Africa Christian University, Nairobi (PACU). On Sundays, they lead “Naivasha International Fellowship,” a multi-national, inter-denominational church.
Little Hands School is also a key part of their ministry. It is an inclusive school that integrates children with physical disabilities and other special needs. The school has over 150 children, and about a third have special needs including spina bifida, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, autism, hearing impairment and other learning disabilities.
Our vision statement for Helping Hands is “Empowerment through Education.” Together with our desire to promote Christ in all we do, this vision forms the foundation of our ministry. As we reach out to many who are disadvantaged in the community, our hope is that lives will be transformed both spiritually and practically.
Ministry History: Celia and Bernie moved to Naivasha, Kenya in 2005 with their two children, Abbie (13) and Theon (11) who currently attend the boarding school, Rift Valley Academy in Kenya.
Prayer Requests:
