Through the ministry of Hope and Light, Leigh-Ann with her husband Thomas serve with love, compassion and purpose. They recognizing the complexity of needs within the vulnerable and marginalized population, fostering dignity and cultivating a community where hope is not just offered but actively nurtured in the lives of those experiencing hardship, hunger and homelessness.

As Mission Canada workers, Leigh-Ann and Thomas want to build kingdom relationships with those who not only need to hear God's word, but also need to see it in action. Their hearts are moved by what Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 (ESV), "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

It is their desire to be a positive and supportive connection point between the local church, the extended community of Cobourg and Northumberland County and those who are experiencing hardship. Leigh-Ann and Thomas have a desire to serve together as a reflection of God's love, building trusted relationships that allow opportunities to share the truth of who Jesus is, and the hope that He brings - serving and supporting those who need an open heart, a listening ear, and a helping hand.

Through intentional and purposeful engagement with those who do not fully yet comprehend the love of a Father that this couple reflect God's love and extend arms of care and compassion to those in need. Simple acts of caring and kindness cause hearts to open to so much more than just meeting material needs. They are so thankful that God has chosen them as His hands and feet, providing for His people the very basics of life every day. it is through these tangible acts of obedience and care that the heart of God is seen, felt and experienced. What beautiful and transformational these moments are!

As Leigh-Ann and Thomas walk in this missional calling that the Lord has placed before them, the promise found in Isaiah 40:31a (ESV) "but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;" sings in their hearts and drives the hope and light they have to share from their own experience of His faithfulness.

The ministry of Hope and Light is about representing the confident expectation of what God has promised, shining the light that comes only from Him. Jesus is the light of the world, and we are carriers of His light into dark places, glorifying the Giver of light and magnifying Him among those who need His presence and power.
