Location: Thailand, Southeast Asia
Ministry Focus: Our focus is three-fold:
1. Imagine Thailand - we support, work with & advocate for the people and ministries of Imagine Thailand. Imagine is a PAOC, Thailand-registered foundation with strategic ministries: at universities in Hat Yai and Bangkok; to at-risk children and families in Takua Pa; and to Burmese/Karen refugees, migrants and orphans in Mae Sot.
2. STMs - we help host/lead short term missions teams from our home church.
3. Team Care - our global workers work hard, far from home, in strange cultures, and often without a lot of physical contact and support. We care deeply about that. And we try to pour into our global workers in the Southeast Asia region. Through onsite visits and correspondence, we aim to be “mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, prayer partners, listeners, chief cooks and bottle-washers, office temps, babysitters, and ministry helpers”.
Ministry History: Jim is a graduate of Royal Roads Military College and retired in 2014 after a 40 year career with the Department of National Defence. He serves on the boards of SALTS (Sail and Life Training Society, a youth ministry) and Focus on the Family Canada, volunteers at Nanoose Bay Youth Camp, and is an Overseer with the OMEGA program of Summit Pacific College.Denise graduated from Western Pentecostal Bible College (now Summit Pacific) and retired as school secretary in 2015. She has been a missionary to Zambia, also volunteers at Nanoose Bay, and is on our church missions committee. Together we realize that “the need is great and the time is short” and are therefore determined to make our retirement count. Each year, we split our time, ministries and passions between Canada and Southeast Asia.
