Location: Southeast Asia
Ministry Focus: Jeff & Aynsley have been in full-time ministry since 1995. Jeff pastored in Pembroke, served as the Eastern Ontario District Youth Director for 8 years, served as Eastern Ontario District Mission & Ministry Specialist for 5 years, and then accepted a call to be the lead pastor of Community Pentecostal Church in Ottawa (current ministry role). While serving in District Office, Jeff led 8 short-term missions trips to train pastors to lead their own short-term missions trips as well to serve both leadership and youth ministry needs on various fields. One of the by-products of these trips was a sense of calling to invest more into missions in the future. As Jeff and Aynsley discussed how they could meet this call at some point in the future, they determined that as they approached their “empty nest” years, they would give 2 weeks (minimal) of their holidays yearly to serve in Southeast Asia. In preparation for this, Jeff worked towards a Masters in Leadership from Southeastern University, which was completed in 2015.
Aynsley is a nurse who plans to be trained with Community Health Evangelism, using her skills to train others in the each community they minister within. Jeff plans to develop pastors in “learning clusters”, provide leadership days/conference, and teach intensives under Global Ed. He will also be involved in youth ministry camps and leadership development. The need for leadership development is great in Southeast Asia and the Hilliers are committed to provided this in both informal and formal settings.
