LOCATION: Kenya
MINISTRY FOCUS: In a world where the truth of God and the Bible is being questioned, compromised, and attacked with false teaching and where thorough biblical literacy is lacking, it is of deep importance to ensure that Christians and ministry leaders around the world consistently speak God’s Word accurately. As a Global Volunteer, Cheryl teaches at Pan Africa Christian University (PACU) in Nairobi, Kenya, coming alongside the professors at PACU to provide biblical, orthodox theological training for students. These students will be able to draw on such training to minister the truth of Jesus and the Word wherever God calls them.
MINISTRY HISTORY: Having being called to ministry and missions when she was a preteen, Cheryl is currently the children’s pastor at Living Word Assembly of God Church (a predominantly and historically Ghanaian congregation) in Toronto, ministering to the kids and helping the church grow multiculturally. Previously, she was the Associate Pastor at Chauvin Gospel Centre in rural Chauvin, Alberta.
Her semester in Ghana during her undergrad at Redeemer University was pivotal in helping Cheryl see the need to support pastors in theological training. Cheryl now holds a Masters of Theological Studies from Tyndale University. She has served as a guest lecturer and TA at Masters College in Peterborough, Ontario for the last few years.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
1.That God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus would be preached in truth around the world by future pastors and ministry leaders studying at PACU.
2. For biblical literacy and wisdom for the students to differentiate God’s truth from false teaching.
3. For financing needs related to traveling to and from Kenya.
