Location: Cambodia
Ministry Focus: In February, I will be embarking on a 2-3 week journey to Cambodia for training and preparation in short-term medical missions. During this trip, I will be part of a team of nurses and a trip lead, where we aim to address both medical and spiritual needs through mission work. We plan to use our medical expertise to support the local community while sharing the love of Jesus through hands-on care, teaching, and other community initiatives. Additionally, I will be receiving Community Health Evangelism (CHE) training either on the field or before the trip, which will prepare me to minister through a healthcare lens. This training will guide me on how to effectively combine medical care with mission work, allowing me to apply my nursing knowledge while sharing the light of Christ. There is also an opportunity for me to collaborate with Child Care Plus Programs, exploring how I can serve in this capacity.
Ministry History: Over the past several years, I have volunteered in various ministry capacities. One of my first volunteer experiences was with Youth for Christ, where I helped lead a group of youth living in poverty in our city. I connected with the youth, prayed with and for them, and led by example, providing weekly snacks, messages, and support. At my home church, I volunteered with the youth group for a few years, forming relationships, praying with youth, speaking occasionally, playing games, and offering support in different ways. I also participated in a summer program organized by our church, which brought food and games to children living in poverty in a nearby area. Through this program, I engaged with kids, played with them, and showed them love through sharing food and kindness.
In recent years, I have been heavily involved in a church plant at the University. My pastor and mentor invited me to volunteer a few years ago, and I have been involved ever since. My ministry roles have varied each year, including small group leading, event planning, community service, relationship building, and soon, preaching.
Prayer Requests:
- I am praying for God's guidance and equipping as I prepare for this upcoming trip to Cambodia.
- I seek His direction in every step and trust that He will lead me where He wants me to be.
- I continue to work as a registered nurse, which supports me and prepares me for serving through medical missions, and I ask for prayers for wisdom, strength, and a servant's heart in this new chapter of ministry.
