Important Update:
We are deeply saddened by the news that our dear sister and co-labourer in mission, Jade Kenyamanyara, passed into the arms of Jesus on November 30, 2020.
Jade suffered an acute stroke in Tanzania on Nov 24th and was airlifted to Nairobi, Kenya for a higher level of care. Despite several medical interventions, and prayers going up around the globe, Jade had a subsequent stroke and continued to decline. She is now in the eternal presence of her Saviour; the one she declared was worthy of her adoration, her life, and her worship forevermore.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Julius, Ezra, Gabriel, Josiah, their extended family, members of their Village of Hope and PAOC family, and all who knew and loved her. Should you wish to provide some financial support for the care of this family, you can donate below and mark “care” in the donation instructions.
Location: Tanzania, Africa
Ministry Focus: Julius and Jade serve as the director and administrator for Village of Hope Mwanza. Village of Hope – Africa is a Canadian charitable organisation bringing hope to children in need throughout Africa. VOH is located in 6 countries and its programs provide education, nutrition, shelter, and healthcare. The mission of Village of Hope is to bring lasting hope to vulnerable children.
As director and administrator for VOH Mwanza, Julius and Jade are involved in the leadership and daily running of the Village. At VOH Mwanza there are currently 86 children between the ages of 3 and 20 including 12 special needs children who are cared for at the Village. Mwanza Pentecostal Church onsite reaches out to the surrounding community as well; sharing the love of Jesus Christ and the hope that is found only in Him.
Ministry History: Julius and Jade grew up worlds apart (Kenya and Canada) but met at Pan Africa Christian University in Nairobi. They started their marriage and ministry together in Canada and were involved in various ministry roles including youth, children and interim pastoring but missions was always on their hearts. In 2012 they started their missions journey as mid-term missionaries with STM Network serving as volunteer staff at Dar es Salaam Pentecostal Church in Tanzania. After two years there God led them to Village of Hope - Mwanza. They transitioned to full-time PAOC global workers and have been serving at VOH Mwanza since September 2014. That's the short story!
Prayer Requests:
-
Health and safety for their family as they serve in Tanzania
-
Consistent and sufficient financial support both personally as global workers and for the operations of the Village.
-
Pray for wisdom and new ideas and vision to reach out beyond our walls into the community to share the hope of Jesus Christ.
-
Pray for the starting of the new Village site, VOH Bulale which will serve a needy community just out of town.
