LOCATION: Tanzania
MY TRANSFORMATIONAL IMPACT: My vision is to see more children find hope in Jesus through Village of Hope Tanzania, while also witnessing Petra City Church become a catalyst for community transformation through the power of the gospel.
MY MINISTRY FOCUS: Over 44% of the Tanzanian population still struggles with extreme poverty. As the director for Villages of Hope (VOH) Mwanza, Tanzania, my team of 80 and I seek to care for over 1,200 children across the country, by offering them Christ-centred nutrition, healthcare, education, and discipleship programs.
Our ultimate goal is to break the vicious cycle of poverty by producing confident, hope-filled children, who will grow up to become productive members of their communities. VOH also partners with “Under the Same Sun,” an organization that advocates for the protection of children and youth with albinism.
Additionally, I serve as the lead pastor of Petra City Church, a newly established urban church that seeks to develop biblically-equipped, Spirit-filled believers.
YOUR PARTNERSHIP: You will assist many more children in need, to provide a future and a hope for them while helping us to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through Petra City Church.
MY MINISTRY HISTORY: My mission journey began in 2012 when my late wife and I, along with our firstborn—our one-year-old son, packed our bags for a short-term mission to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Eleven years later, my three boys and I are still in Tanzania. After two years in Dar es Salaam, God led us to Mwanza, where we have been serving to this day.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
-
For God to provide the necessary resources to support the 1,200 children in our care while also giving us discernment to lead these children who often have experienced considerable trauma.
-
For God to give my church and I wisdom, fresh ideas, and vision, to reach more people with the hope of Jesus Christ.
-
For God to give my boys and I good health, keep us safe, and provide more people to serve alongside us, to help lighten the load of juggling so many responsibilities.
