MISSION CANADA CAMPUS WORKER
Ministry Location: Humber College, Toronto, ON
Ministry Focus: Campus Ministry
Picture this: a close-knit community of 25,000+ people. Young, passionate students with big aspirations, all training for professional vocations. Many will become influential leaders in our world, aiming to shape the fabric of our society in the coming years. 25,000+ students... thinking, learning, setting the trajectory for the rest of their lives. In 2008, Mission Canada appointed its first missionary to this largely unreached community: Humber College in Toronto (Rexdale), ON. With excitement, Trevor planted The Embassy at Humber.
The Embassy exists to help students discover hope, purpose and life to its fullest through the message, mission and living person of Jesus Christ. It's a place where students can gather to worship regularly and be exposed to biblical teaching that's applicable to their surroundings and pertinent to their unique stage in life. Although studies show that large numbers of Christian young people turn away from faith during post-secondary education, Trevor is actively working to reverse these statistics. He believes that our Canadian colleges and universities represent mission fields that require missionaries. Would you consider helping him reach this influential community of student leaders?
Ministry during a COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging, yet God has been faithful to us. This short video (featuring Becky along with Embassy members and alumni) was produced for those in need of some encouragement through this season, and we want to include it here as a token of thanks to you - our supporters- who have enabled us to continue our work discipling students just like these. Our community includes young adults from many nations and tongues, so let us bless you in as many languages as we know how!
