Ministry Focus: Campus Ministry
Jason Cornelius graduated from Summit Pacific College in British Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in Theology with a ‘not-for-profit’ focus. He currently serves as campus pastor at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV).
Jason has a passion for young adult ministry; seeing the lives of young men and women transformed by the gospel. It is his desire to see people unlock their full potential and be used by the Holy Spirit in every facet of their lives.
Together with his team at UFV, they disciple, mentor, empower and equip students to be the hands and feet of Jesus among their peers, classmates, and professors. They do this through outreach programs like Alpha and in times of worship, Bible study, and fellowship as they seek to develop and foster a positive Christ-filled community. The UFV team walks closely with students as they navigate university life and make big decisions that will affect their futures.
Jason’s other ministry role is with Mission Global and GlobalEd as Studies Co-ordinator. He assists PAOC global workers through their training as they prepare for deployment to the mission field. Jason was born and raised in Africa, growing up in a missionary home. He understands and values the importance of training and preparation for overseas service.
Jason’s dual roles within Mission Canada and Mission Global provide him with the opportunity to live out God’s calling on his life. He is passionate to see that university students are spiritually healthy and ready for what lies ahead of them. His involvement with the hundreds of global workers sent by PAOC provides him with the opportunity to impact the world for Jesus.
Jason is married to Ariana, and they serve together in their local church in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
