Ministry Focus: Urban Ministry
Bob's calling, as a Mission Canada urban worker, is to be part of a mobilizing mentoring movement. This is a calling in training believers how to train more believers to present the gospel through the effective sharing of their life story, ultimately leading people into a relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. This season of life for Bob is a time of equipping, seeing the body of Christ grow in personal witness and discipleship of others in making self-reproducing disciple makers.
Will you pray daily for Bob as he follows the Spirit's leading, training and sharing God's love with those who are far from Him? Why? "Because we must," as the Mission Canada motto says. This phrase and Bob's request for your prayer support arise from passages like Ephesians 6:19, "Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel."
Bob has felt a strong calling to "re-establish the prayer room" outside the church walls as he engages prayerfully with people in need and those without hope for life. He can be found doing community prayer walks and at events hosting prayer stations and prayer clinics. With a focus on community chaplaincy "Brother Bob," as he is known in many circles, is often found in numerous community neighbourhoods, malls, hospitals, seniors' centres and as "Padre" with the Royal Canadian Legion. His desire is to say with the Apostle Paul. "What then is my reward? Just this: that is preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge," 1 Corinthians 9:18.
Allow the Spirit to guide you as you respond so that, together with Bob, we can reach those who need to know Christ and mobilize believers in a greater disciple-making movement! As the Spirit leads you, too, use the donation button on this page to stand in financial support with Bob in his role as an evangelist reaching both those outside the Church and equipping those within the body of Christ.
