MISSION CANADA NEXT GEN & FAMILIES WORKER
Ministry Location: Ontario
Ministry Focus: Next Gen & Families
Aimee uses horses and farm life as a bridge to connect with youth and adults in Peterborough, ON. With over 20 years of ministry experience both at home and as a missionary in Africa, Aimee cares deeply for the lost and lonely and believes that EVERY believer should use EVERYTHING at their disposal to share the love of Jesus. Her work with a farm-based outreach to an unreached tribe in Angola convinced her of the effectiveness of using community to introduce people to Jesus. Now, together with her husband Marvin, Aimee runs Home Farm Ministries just outside of Peterborough. They do Farm Days and bonfires, riding lessons and cow milking, one-on-one mentoring and small group studies, all with the goal of connecting people to Jesus and to each other. Aimee and Marvin love creative, out-of-the-box ideas and strive to use everything at their disposal to reach as many for Jesus as possible.
Since its beginning three years ago, God has developed this farm ministry in ways Aimee never dreamed of. She truly feels she is walking in answered prayer as the project has grown and grown, and as God has brought people out of the woodwork to volunteer and join the Home Farm team. This growth, though, also brings challenges as time management, funding, and systems are stretched out to the max. Aimee and Marvin covet your prayers for God's abundant provision in three main areas: time, team, and funding.
In addition to her work with Mission Canada, Aimee is also pursuing a Master of Divinity degree in Counselling Psychology. She plans to integrate this into her ministry and is excited about making Home Farm a place of both spiritual AND emotional healing. Pray for her and Marvin as the financial and time demands of study are significant.
