Every Day Faith - April Focus on the Next Generation

Children are worthy of our attention—they are the largest people group to be reached. Nearly half of the world’s population is under the age of 20. Based on a survey conducted by the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth, 71 per cent of Christians commit their lives to Christ before the age of 15. From the age of 15 to 19, this number drops to 10 per cent. For those over the age of 19, it raises slightly to 19 per cent. For this very reason, as a Fellowship, we value the efforts that PAOC churches and our workers around the world make to reach and disciple the young. The 4/14 Window Movement encourages Christian leaders worldwide to be about reaching children and raising them up to be strong and bold in their faith.

Friends, as we focus as a Fellowship on praying, reading, giving and sharing every day, the next generation must be a priority. We must commit to praying daily for our children and with our children.  To help you do so, we are providing you with a daily calendar for the month of April. We encourage you to take 30 days to read through the Gospel of Mark at least once, or even twice.  Encourage families in your church to use this simple calendar as we commit to reading and praying together in keeping with the daily themes from Mark. Post this calendar on your website. Email an electronic link to your congregation and friends. Make photocopies and hand them out. Let’s pray and ask the Lord to help us realize a generation of children who model Christ-like behaviour in all they say and do. Use this 30-day challenge to help you develop the habit of praying daily for children in your family, in your church, in our nation and around the globe. Visit the resource page at http://everydayfaith.ca/?page_id=158 for the calendar and pray along with us. Also visit https://www.facebook.com/PAOCMissions for regular updates.

Every blessing,

Dave Wells
