John Engels

John Engels serves as the national Coordinator for Mission Canada’s SERVE Campus Network and also serves as the chair of Mission Canada’s SERVE Campus Guiding Group. He is involved first-hand in both discipling post-secondary students and training campus workers.

John came to Mission Canada in 2019 with years of experience in campus ministry on both sides of the Canada/USA border. John served as District Director for University Christian Ministries (UCM) in the PAOC British Columbia and Yukon District for 16 years. Prior to that, John and his wife Nancy served in the USA on campuses in Montana. He has also served as regional representative in Chi Alpha Campus Ministries for the Assemblies of God, as well as chaplain on post-secondary campuses, including at Summit Pacific College.

John holds an MA in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University, and his great desire is to empower students to live on mission and to build spiritually healthy teams that will go the distance in God's kingdom. John's ongoing mandate is to identify and develop campus workers and assist with planting new ministries on post-secondary campuses.

John is married to Nancy and have four children and four grandchildren.
