Dear PAOC family,

We are grieving as we write to share the news of the sudden passing of one of our Global Worker family.  Due to a medical incident, while at their school in Haiti, Michel Charbonneau went to be with Jesus on December 13, 2024.

Michel and his wife Louise have ministered in Haiti since 1996.  They have worked hard to bring the gospel to thousands of young people and children in Port-Au-Prince. As the pastors of a Pentecostal church, they organized and ran a Sunday school with an average attendance of 700-800 children. Michel was also the principal of an ERDO ChildCARE Plus school with over 700 students, serving many of the most vulnerable in their community.  They have had a significant impact on their beloved Haiti.

Regional Director Rev. Mark Hazzard, is in communication with Louise, and we are committed to supporting and journeying with her and the family at this time.

We invite you to pray with us for Louise and their family.

If you have any immediate questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself (murray.cornelius@paoc.org) or Mark Hazzard (mark.hazzard@paoc.org).

Michel was a strong leader and advocate for the next generation in a turbulent nation.  He accepted Christ as a young adult in a biker gang, and the Lord used Michel’s transformation to see the light of Christ shine on thousands of students.  He will be greatly missed.

Sincerely,

Murray Cornelius
