BEIRUT
Pray for people in Beirut who experienced a major explosion on Tuesday (August 4), caused by the ignition of a highly explosive fertilizer being stored in a warehouse, which left at least 150 dead, more than 5,000 wounded and 300,000 people homeless. Damage is estimated to be approximately $10 to $15 billion. Pray that God will guide the rescue teams as they search for more victims, and that medical care and shelter will get to those who need it. Pray that God will comfort those in the affected areas, whether they have been injured, lost family and friends, or lost their homes. Pray for ERDO partners in Lebanon as they respond to the immediate needs of the homeless and injured. Pray also for opportunities for Christians living there to share the gospel and create ministry opportunities for those in need.

Markus & Elizabeth Brandt
GERMANY
Pray that God will guide Markus and Elizabeth as they network and build good relationships between Canadian and German pastors and churches. Pray for the many cities in Germany without a life-giving church, that doors will open for faith communities to be planted so that people can hear and experience the gospel. Pray that more missions teams will come for prayer, worship and evangelistic outreach, and for more volunteers to assist with running the English language camps and the centre that Markus and Elizabeth lead. Pray also that God will bless Markus and Elizabeth with a strong base of partners to support them in prayer for ministry in Germany. Ask God to grant them continued good health and energy.

WORLDWIDE
Pray continually for God to intervene in the spread of COVID-19, which has infected more than 19,718,000, and killed nearly 728,020 people around the world.1 Pray for healing for those infected, and comfort for those who have lost loved ones. Ask God to strengthen and protect frontline and essential workers and to grant peace to their families who are concerned for them. Pray that, as many countries begin to ease restrictions, their economies will respond well and new infections will be limited. Pray for extra protection for people in developing countries who are already malnourished and more vulnerable to this disease. Pray also for the hundreds of PAOC global workers who have remained in the country of their calling, serving their communities and displaying the love of Christ throughout this global pandemic.
