Join us this week in praying for these specific needs in our nation, our world, and in our PAOC family of workers, both internationally and in Canada. If you have received this communication as a forwarded message and want to sign up for weekly prayer updates, click here.
During this Christmas season, pray that more Christians will take the time to deepen their understanding of the season of advent, and embrace its full meaning so that Christ becomes the focus of our activities. Ask God to help Christians everywhere to be responsive to opportunities to share the truth about Christ and the meaning of advent with our neighbours, friends and families. Pray that PAOC churches will be effective in sharing the message of Christ’s birth, life, death and resurrection, so that many hearts and lives will be changed over the next couple of weeks. Pray also that Christians will recognize thoughtful ways to express God’s love to those without hope during this season and always.
Mark & Kim Steinfield
May God bless and strengthen Mark, Kim and their children as they serve in Spain. Ask for His protection over them spiritually and emotionally. Pray that God would continue to guide the Bible school in Madrid. Pray for opportunities to share the gospel with Spaniards and to see them discipled in Christ. Pray also for wisdom as they minister to families in the local Salem church, and for Kim as she provides member care for our global workers.
Pray for the continued effectiveness of all of ERDO’s ChildCARE Plus programs and the almost 8,300 children who are currently benefitting from education, improved nutrition and spiritual nurture. Pray also that more people would step forward to support the children who are not yet sponsored.
On Monday (December 9), a volcano erupted on White Island, New Zealand, which killed 16 people and injured 31 others. Many of the survivors were severely burned. Pray for physical and emotional healing for the people who survived the tragedy and for the families and friends of those killed or seriously injured. Pray that God will grant comfort and peace to everyone impacted. Pray for opportunities for the gospel to spread, so that many people will find hope in Christ in the aftermath of this event.
