Week of MAY 15, 2017

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER TO END FAMINE

Please join us in praying and in spreading the word about the upcoming Global Day of Prayer to End Famine that will be held on Sunday, May 21. Canadian Foodgrains Bank, of which the PAOC is a member, is calling on all Christians and churches in Canada to join this effort. The food crisis across parts of the Horn of Africa has worsened, expanding to a larger geographical area and impacting more people. Pray for the 20 million people across South Sudan, Yemen, Nigeria and Somalia who are currently suffering from severe hunger, and in some cases, famine. Pray also that aid will get to where it is needed most.

CANADA – QUEBEC, ONTARIO, NEW BRUNSWICK & BRITISH COLUMBIA

Please continue to pray for the people who were impacted by flooding that occurred in several provinces, including Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and British Columbia, over the past few weeks. Pray that God will strengthen and guide those involved in the clean-up process. Pray also that many people will have opportunities to hear and receive the gospel in the aftermath of these events.

INTERNATIONAL OFFICE

Pray that God will bless Brent and Carina with wisdom and guidance as they serve as missionaries/evangelists and pastors to global workers and leaders. Pray also that they will continue to receive favour with national and international pastors and leaders.

CANADA – ALBERTA, ONTARIO & BRITISH COLUMBIA

Please pray for the youth who will be attending conferences this weekend (Overflow in Waterloo, Ontario, from May 19-21; Launch Uprising in Oshawa, Ontario, from May 19-21; Historymaker in Chilliwack, British Columbia, from May 19-21; YC Alberta in Red Deer, Alberta, from May 20-22). Pray that God will prompt many youth to attend, and that He will remove any obstacles to their attendance. Pray that He will prepare their hearts to receive all that He wants to accomplish during the event. Pray that many seeds will be planted in these young people’s hearts and that their lives and their families’ lives will be impacted for eternity. Pray also for the speakers and music artists as they prepare for these conferences.
