BC Wildfire Response - Thank You to our PAOC Family & Friends
On July 28, in the wake of a series of severe wildfires in British Columbia, we invited our PAOC family and friends to partner with ERDO
Dear friends,
On July 28, in the wake of a series of severe wildfires in British Columbia, we invited our PAOC family and friends to partner with ERDO (Emergency Relief and Development Overseas) in raising funds to meet the day-to-day expenses of thousands of displaced people. Through your generous collective response, ERDO has been able to provide tangible assistance with practical needs to those returning to destroyed or severely damaged homes. In conjunction with the BC & Yukon District, we are continuing to monitor the situation closely. At
least 3,800 people are still displaced, and the largest fire in British Columbia’s history has just been formed as of August 22, when 19 smaller fires merged together, prompting evacuations in several smaller, northern communities.
We are thankful for the opportunity to work together to bring encouragement to the people of British Columbia who find themselves in crisis. Thank you once again for your prompt response which helped us to demonstrate Christ’s love and concern in such an intentional way. We will continue to communicate updates should an additional response be required.
For Him,
David Wells
General Superintendent, PAOC
