Youth Pastor
Jr. High (Grades 5–8), Youth (Grades 9–12), and Young Adults
Position Title: Youth Pastor (Jr. High, Youth, and Young Adults)
Location: North Edge Church, Sudbury, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Salary: Competitive salary, based on experience and qualifications (range discussed during interview)

Job Summary
North Edge Church is a multi-cultural, multi-generational congregation of 300+ seeking an enthusiastic and caring Youth Pastor. This individual will provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and mentorship to students in Jr. High (grades 5–8), Youth (grades 9–12), and Young Adults (18+). A shepherding heart is essential—the Youth Pastor will journey alongside students and young adults through life’s challenges, transitions, and spiritual growth, providing guidance, encouragement, and care. The Youth Pastor will work closely with the Lead Pastor and church staff to cultivate a culture of relational discipleship, authentic faith, and community connection across all age groups. This role requires a passionate leader capable of inspiring, equipping, and empowering the next generation to live out their faith in both the church and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
Jr. High Ministry (Grades 5–8)
• Develop and implement age-appropriate discipleship programs and small groups for Jr. High students.
• Plan and lead weekly Jr. High gatherings, activities, and retreats.
• Provide pastoral care and guidance, walking alongside students as they navigate personal, social, and spiritual challenges.
• Mentor and train volunteer leaders to engage effectively with Jr. High students.
Youth Ministry (Grades 9–12)
• Lead a dynamic and engaging high school ministry that encourages spiritual growth, community, and service.
• Organize weekly youth services, study groups, events, and mission opportunities.
• Walk alongside students through adolescence, offering guidance, encouragement, and mentorship in both spiritual and life matters.
• Recruit, mentor, and equip youth leaders and volunteers to serve faithfully and creatively.
Young Adults Ministry (18+ years)
• Develop and oversee a young adults’ ministry that emphasizes discipleship, leadership, and community engagement.
• Organize and lead social events, retreats, connect groups, and service opportunities for young adults.
• Journey with young adults through life transitions such as work, school, relationships, and spiritual growth.
• Collaborate with youth and adult ministries to create a seamless path for students transitioning from high school to adulthood within the church community.
General Responsibilities
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and church-wide planning initiatives.
• Support the Lead Pastor in strategic growth and spiritual development initiatives.
• Oversee ministry budgets for youth and young adult programs.
• Engage in ongoing personal spiritual development and attend relevant ministry conferences and training.
• Foster a culture of relational discipleship, encouraging all students and young adults to experience Christ-centered community.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Ministry, Youth Ministry, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience leading youth and young adult ministries in a church context.
• Experience mentoring and developing student and young adult leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to provide pastoral care and shepherding for students and young adults.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage students and young adults effectively.
• Ability to plan, organize, and execute ministry programs, events, and retreats.
• Passion for discipleship, pastoral care, and mentoring the next generation.
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable in a fast-paced church environment.
• Experience with social media and digital platforms for communication and engagement.
• Ability to journey alongside individuals in life, offering guidance, encouragement, and spiritual support.

Work Schedule
• Flexible hours including some evenings, weekends, and special events to accommodate student and young adult gatherings.
