Job Description

The Student Ministries Pastor is responsible for leading a vibrant, and healthy, ministry for students in grades 6–12. The ministry nurtures spiritual growth, personal development, and meaningful connection. This role combines pastoral care, leadership development, and creative programming while intentionally building bridges between the church and the wider community. The Student Ministries Pastor works collaboratively with the Lead Pastor, staff, volunteers, parents, and community partners to create safe, engaging environments where students feel known, valued, and invited into the life of the church. • Designs, runs and oversees an effective and engaging weekly experience for students separately in grades 6-8 and grades 9-12 • Develops discipleship pathways for students to begin exploring and growing in their faith • Develops healthy teams that are scalable for growth • Designs, creates, oversees and runs fun, engaging events, retreats, and activities for students that help them grow spiritually, and relationally. • Focuses on the spiritual, physical, emotional and mental care and development of students, families, and leaders • Is community-minded, connects with students and fosters positive and meaningful relationships within the local community (e.g., Schools, Sport teams, coaching, attending plays and concerts, etc.) • Incorporates students into the greater life of the GTC church family • Annually sets goals, structures and systems for their area of ministry • Other related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Lead Pastor or designate

Required Skills

• Passionate Christ follower, who has a deep commitment to their faith • Displays a deep commitment to students and their families • Demonstrates an ability to be a Team Player, who works well with the community, staff, students in grades 6-12, parents and leaders. • Creative, dependable, hard worker, visionary. • Has or is willing to work toward credentialing with the PAOC or is willing to sign a Doctrinal and Lifestyle Agreement.

Education Required

• Bible College training and experience preferred, but not necessary • Other related education degrees/diplomas would be an asset

Experience Required

• Previous work-related experience is preferred (e.g., youth pastor, youth director, etc.) Student Ministries Pastor, Glad tidings church
