We are a healthy thriving church looking for a good shepherd. Keremeos is found in the beautiful Similkameen Valley and is known as the fruit stand capital of British Columbia. Orchards, farms and vineyards are the principal industries in the area. Elim Tabernacle in Keremeos has been in existence for nearly 80 years, serving a congregation of 40-50 of all ages. Our pastoral position is .75 hours with a wage of $2500.00 per month. Along with the wages, and utilities, we provide a newly renovated 4-bedroom 2-bathroom home that is adjacent to the church. There is a fenced yard with garden space and fruit trees. The high school is half a block away and all amenities are a short walk away. The pastor of Elim will be responsible for the overall spiritual and executive leadership of the congregation, with the role and the responsibilities of a lead pastor. The position is accountable to the Church Board.

The pastor will: Meet scriptural prerequisites found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:2-3, and Matthew 28:19-20. Hold credentials with the PAOC, or be able to satisfy the requirements for ordination within the PAOC. Have a heart for worship, evangelism, teaching and revival, who is called and determined to see the establishment of God's kingdom in our assembly and our community. Possess excellent written and verbal skills in English. Provide leadership as a spiritual coach and mentor, developing spiritual maturity and growth in leadership abilities in the members. Have a basic understanding of computer skills, church administration, and financial matters. The pastor should also be able to fulfill the constitutional responsibilities of the church and conduct various meetings such as annual general meetings and board meetings. Be the main speaker at services but share the pulpit and provide opportunities for others to give testimony and develop. Be hospitable and participate in the ministry of visitation and willing to provide occasional pastoral counselling. Consider local and community outreach to non-believers a priority and encourage the church to be involved with community events that impact the lives of people in the community we serve.
