Ministry Focus: God has given Marilyn a desire for the Philippines and a vision of compassion. Statistics show that there are more than two hundred thousand children living on the streets of Manila. Her vision is to work with and alongside these groups to be able to demonstrate God’s love by empowering them spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Introducing Community Health Evangelism (CHE) to the communities, where one can raise awareness of need and opportunity, and facilitate a process by which the community itself identifies solutions and begins to work together in an organized way. The community gains hope and vision, and a development process is catalyzed.
Ministry History: For 31 years Marilyn worked with Health Care in Newfoundland. Prior to her retirement in 2007, she had opportunity to take short term missions trips and become involved with holistic ministry in Kenya, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Romania, Cambodia, Laos and the Philippines. She volunteered for three years in Manila, Philippines from 2007 to 2010. She worked mostly with the squatters, the homeless, the abandoned, the neglected, the abused and the impoverished children.
