Ministry Focus: With over 40 years of experience, the Evangelistas are dedicated to holistic community development and faith-based urban outreach in their homeland. Collaborating with local churches, they focus on spiritual transformation and wellness through various programs including drug recovery, community integration, evangelism, discipleship, and sustainable livelihood initiatives. Their mission is to share Jesus Christ's love through Bible-based day programs, structured rehabilitation, and post-rehab support, serving all generations. They work closely with volunteers, educational institutions, government, NGOs, and indigenous councils to educate, raise awareness, and provide networking and support services to the community.
Ministry History: Dave and Marlene, natives of Mindanao in the Southern Islands of the Philippines, raised their three children in Greater Vancouver, who are now happily married with three granddaughters. After retirement, they became commissioned global volunteers with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. With experience at World Vision International in family and community development across the Philippines and Asia Pacific, they've also served as Urban Missionaries and Intercultural Community Advocates in Canada for 35 years. Marlene, a certified Addiction Counselor specializing in substance abuse, drug and alcohol addictions, and addictive behaviors, has extensive experience in treatment, rehabilitation, job placement, and housing programs for women and children in Canada's First Nations Tribal and Indigenous communities.
