Location: Dakar, Senegal
Vision Statement: To see lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ in Senegal and beyond, as we serve, disciple, and empower local leaders to cultivate healthy, multiplying communities of faith among the least reached and most vulnerable.
Ministry Focus: We will be deploying to Senegal in the fall of 2026 to serve among the least reached and most vulnerable, with a focus on reaching unreached people groups with the gospel. During our initial season, a significant emphasis will be on language and cultural acquisition, equipping us for effective long-term ministry.
We will be involved in ministries serving marginalized communities, including the Deaf, Talibé (street children), and other vulnerable children. Our role will include supporting the administration of a dormitory for Deaf students, contributing to ChildCARE Plus initiatives, and assisting in outreach efforts that provide practical care, healthcare support, and opportunities for discipleship. Through teaching and education, we also seek to strengthen individuals and communities for long-term impact.
In partnership with the National Pentecostal Church and local ministry leaders, we will focus on serving, discipling, and empowering local leaders. We will also support church planting and leadership development, with the goal of cultivating healthy, multiplying communities of faith that extend beyond Senegal into the surrounding region.
Ministry History: We have both spent our lives in service - Darren in pastoral ministry for 26 years, and Elizabeth as a Registered Nurse for 30 years. Throughout these years, God has shaped our hearts through a variety of roles in church leadership, pastoral care, teaching, and healthcare, giving us a deep desire to serve both spiritually and practically.
Darren has served as a lead pastor, providing spiritual leadership, discipleship, and community outreach, while Elizabeth has faithfully cared for individuals and families through her nursing, bringing compassion, skill, and a heart for people in times of need. We have also both had the opportunity to serve on mission trips - Elizabeth in Malawi and Darren in Guatemala, which further deepened our passion for global missions.
Together, these experiences have led us to a clear calling to serve as Global Workers among the least reached and most vulnerable. We believe God has been preparing us throughout our lives for this season, and we are excited to step forward in faith.
Prayer Requests:
1. Language, Culture & Transition - Pray for us as we prepare to deploy in the fall of 2026, that God would give us grace in language learning, cultural adaptation, and in building strong relationships.
2. Open Doors & Ministry Impact - Pray for open doors among the least reached and most vulnerable, that hearts would be receptive to the gospel, and that God would grant us favor among those we live and serve with. Pray that lives would be transformed through discipleship, and practical ministry.
3. Family & Spiritual Strength - Pray for strength, health, and spiritual protection for our family - especially for our daughter as she transitions with us to Senegal, and for our two sons remaining in Canada - that God would guide, protect, and keep us closely connected.
