LOCATION: Costa Rica
TRANSFORMATIONAL IMPACT: Our vision is to mobilize 300 Latinos throughout Latin America to engage in missions, especially in restricted access nations where over 3.1 billion individuals experience “gospel poverty” with little to no access to the gospel message.
MINISTRY FOCUS: One of the most exciting opportunities in missions today is to unlock the vast sending potential of the Latin American Church’s 123 million evangelical believers for the Great Commission.
Due to certain challenges, many Latinos often feel discouraged from engaging in missions. Our goal is to provide them training tools and resources for disciple-making and mobilization; as well, we will host business incubator training sessions, in order for them to serve in restricted access contexts through business opportunities.
Together with our two sons, Andrew, and Stephen, we are deploying to Costa Rica, our home base. In partnership with the Assemblies of God Latin America, we will begin working with churches, colleges, and leaders, from Guatemala to Argentina, where we have established relationships. We will meet one-on-one with pastors, college students, and other leaders; we will also speak at church services to encourage people to get excited about missions, especially in restricted access contexts facing “gospel poverty.
YOUR IMPACT: You will help empower and equip the Latin American Church to deploy global workers to the hardest-to-reach nations for Christ. Help Latinos serve the lost, the poor, the needy, and the vulnerable in the regions of greatest need.
MINISTRY HISTORY: Becoming a believer in his teens, I (Brad) developed a strong passion for missions while serving with YWAM. I then served in missions for over a decade and obtained a bachelor’s degree in theology. While in Guatemala, I met my wife Roxana, a Costa Rican physician. While in Canada, we helped co-pastor a church plant. We also started the “Talking Missions” podcast and YouTube channel to encourage Canadians to go into missions. Upon arriving in Latin America, we will start a Spanish version of our podcast.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- For God to mobilize the Latin American Church to become passionate about missions, especially to restricted access nations.
- For our boys to transition well to living in Costa Rica, so that we can find a suitable school for them.
- For God to provide partners who share our passion for both the Latin American Church and the Great Commission.
