LOCATION: Worldwide
TRANSFORMATIONAL IMPACT: Our dream is to facilitate the training and development of Spirit-filled leaders to engage in ministry in their contexts all across the world.
MINISTRY FOCUS: We are part of the amazing team at GlobalEd Institute, specifically the ever-expanding Ministry Essentials Training Program (METP). In 2022, we saw over 300 METP students complete the program, with another 500 expected to enroll in 2023!
I (Rainer) serve as a leadership development specialist and director of METP, a year-long program that provides students with basic biblical and doctrinal courses, in addition to offering practical ministry skills’ courses. This helps students who have little or no opportunity to be equipped for their local ministry contexts. I do this by overseeing the ongoing development of METP curriculum, the training for our METP trainers, and the establishment of new METP locations around the world.
I (Elizabeth) focus on teaching, mentoring, and encouraging women to become confident, able leaders in ministry. I have had the opportunity to speak in-person to female METP students on the subject of women in ministry, in light of what they have learned in the program. I also provide general ministry support where needed.
YOUR IMPACT: Your partnership will help train more Christian leaders to become passionate frontline evangelists, disciple makers, and community and church leaders in some of the remotest places in the world.
MINISTRY HISTORY: Our ministry endeavours have spanned over 45 years of ministry in various parts of the globe. From 1977 to 1986, we worked overseas as PAOC global workers in Tanzania and from 1988 to 1995, in Sri Lanka. Returning home to Canada in 1995, we pastored an international church in Vancouver. In 2007, we reengaged in missions’ work part-time, resuming our involvement Sri Lanka as Canadian-based global workers. I (Rainer) taught courses at various Bible colleges/seminaries and corporate management contexts. In 2012, we returned to missions full-time, and in 2013, I (Rainer) completed my Doctor of Ministry in Leadership Studies degree at Tyndale University, writing my thesis on ministry mentoring in a South Asian context. In 2014, we felt led to engage with more Bible colleges and training initiatives in other parts of Asia. We then joined the GlobalEd Institute in 2018 to oversee METP’s curriculum development.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- For God to provide more METP instructors who will be able and willing to teach our courses in a number of languages all over the world.
- For God to help us as the METP home team to find the best ways to serve our global METP partners and also to keep us safe and healthy as we travel.
- For God to strengthen and encourage our METP curriculum translators, translating curriculum for students in Ukraine, China, India, and Laos.
