Ministry Focus: Having served for 19 years outside of Canada, we transitioned in 2018 to be Canadian-based, and Missionaries in Residence at Summit Pacific College. Shelley focuses on training teachers in TESOL for missional impact, providing academic support for students at SPC, and engaging with global workers who are using English instruction as a vehicle for community connection. She is also the manager of the GlobalEd Institute, the vehicle through which we provide our Global Worker training and equipping programs such as the Ministry Essentials Training Program. Kirk is the director for GlobalEd, the equipping program of PAOC International Missions which supports theological education and leadership initiatives around the world. Kirk works in consulting, advising and training for purposes of strategic effectiveness to support the work of educational institutions and training programs with PAOC global workers and international partners. He also oversees the work of the GlobalEd Institute, the Timothy Fund Scholarship program, the Equipping Community of Practice and represents the PAOC in global forums such as the World Alliance for Pentecostal Theological Education.
Ministry History: Kirk and Shelley first began their global work in Kenya in 1999. They served at Pan Africa Christian University for 11 years in various roles, and also contributed to community wellness by establishing feeding programs in the slums and providing support for ministries related to the care of orphans and street children. They moved to Jakarta, Indonesia in 2010 and served at Universitas Pelita Harapan for 3 wonderful years. While in Indonesia they were actively involved in their church community and small groups, mentoring young adults, and creating feeding programs in food-insecure districts. In 2013 they again felt God calling them to a new challenge and moved to Klaipeda, Lithuania where they served for 5 years at LCC International University, a Christian liberal arts university with 600 students from 31 nations, mostly former Soviet Union countries in eastern Europe and central Asia. God faithfully directed their steps throughout their 19 years of living globally and provided all they needed to fulfill the tasks He had called them to. In 2018 they returned to Canada to take up their current mission responsibilities.
