Date: August 8, 2026.
Distance: 80km roundtrip from Ucluetet to Tofino and back, with an option to ride 40km to Tofino and drive back. A vehicle will be there to drive any 40km riders back to Ucluelet.
Road Conditions: Paved cycling path.
Biking Path: Starting at Ucluelet, lunch in Tofino, ending in Ucluelet.
Host Church: Christ Community Church Ucluelet. The host church will allow us to camp out on Friday and Saturday night. The church has a shower - so bring your own bedding and towels! Some riders may choose to camp or come to the church Saturday morning.
Food and Support on the Road: Friday supper through Sunday lunch will be provided. We will have snacks and hydration stations on the route!
About the Ride: Arrive in Ucluelet Friday afternoon or early evening. Supper at the church and getting our bike ready to go. Bike Saturday after breakfast, starting at 9am. First break will be at Long Beach (23km) and then lunch at Tofino (40km). We will head back to Ucluelet after lunch and a bit of time to tour the town of Tofino, stopping again at Long Beach for a snack, and then ending in Ucluelet mid-afternoon.
The ride is a 500m elevation gain. For a moderate riders, who ride at 23km/hr, the riding time would be about 3.5 hours. If you plan to ride slower than 23km/hr, please consider starting 30 minutes ahead of the other riders or enjoy the 40km one way ride. For advance riders, the path does not allow you to carry faster speeds due to 30 gates that keep motorized vehicles off. It's a fundraiser, not a race. The road is in excellent condition and winds gently along Highway 4 with multiple beach views.
We ask all riders to promote the ride and get friends and family to donate to the cause, aiming for each rider to raise $500. Let's do this together!
