Ministry Description: We are building a multipurpose 500-seat auditorium on the grounds of Mwanza Christian College to serve as the primary meeting space for the growing urban church plant, Petra City Church, and its extended ministry programs, as well as serve as a venue for college events.
After years of praying and envisioning, Julius and Jade Kenyamanyara, PAOC Global workers in Tanzania, launched Petra City Church on November 1st, 2020. Only three weeks later, Jade experienced an acute stroke and passed away on November 30th, 2020.
By the grace of God, Julius has continued to lead Petra since the loss of Jade. What began with 22 people in their home has grown 5-fold in the last 2.5 years to over 100 in attendance each week and continues to grow.
This facility will enable growth, additional facilities for the children, young adults, and other ministry programs; and be a sending place to reach the community for Christ.
More excitedly, over 75% of the congregation is under the age of 30. It is our vision to create a vibrant urban church within the heart of Mwanza, that will enable the Great Commission to reach, equip and make disciples for Tanzania’s next generation.
