Location: Guyana
Ministry Focus: The spiritual and economic poverty in Guyana have moved Colin and Dorselie to establish the goal of seeing many, but especially young people and children come to the saving grace of God. They desire to mentor young adults to be leaders in the church. The country has a present unemployment rate of 14% and continues to see an annual increase of 1.8%. Consequently, their heart’s desire is to work among the poor and underprivileged and teach life skills and to bring a living hope to the hopeless and unemployable. They hope to accomplish this through house-to-house visitation, church services, flyer distribution and invitations to play sports. They will also be working with two local pastors from the Assemblies of God.
Ministry History: After pastoring for over 35 years in Ontario, Dorselie and Colin responded to the call for missions work in Guyana. Their ministry journey includes pastoring four congregations in the Eastern Ontario and Nunavut District, serving on the Master’s College and Seminary Board of Governors and also the District Executive. Dorselie and Colin have been married for forty-seven years. They have been blessed with three children and four grandchildren, and hopefully still counting.
Prayer Requests:
- Please pray that God opens the door to an ideal location on the East Bank of Demerara from which they can launch their missions work.
- Pray for many to come to know Jesus as Lord and young men and women find employment.
- Pray for their partners to catch the vision that God has given to them and support them prayerfully and financially.
- Pray that, once deployed, they will be able to embark upon their work quickly.
