Tip of the Spear Urban Ministry exists for one reason: to glorify Jesus alone. We do this by loving God and loving our neighbours. Allan senses God's calling into this mission field, being like "the tip of the spear," a prophetic word recently spoken over him. That point of impact—like the tip of the sword of the Spirit—is growing in Him, and sharing Him with those most vulnerable and unreached. The tip of the spear refers to the leading of an effort, often involving the first or most exposed participants in a challenging endeavour.
Who are our neighbours you might ask? They are the people God has called us to serve in lost, lonely, and dark places—those who have fallen through the gaps and are desperate for hope, joy, and life. While many search elsewhere, Allan and his ministry bring the life-changing gospel to neighbours wherever they are. Like the Good Shepherd in Luke 15 who leaves the 99 to find the one, Allan goes after those who are lost.
Allan's ministry is both in word and action, meeting practical needs to build trust and relationships, which open opportunities to share the good news of Jesus. By providing food, water, clothing, friendship, and community, Allan cares for the vulnerable, the broken, and the lonely as Jesus teaches in Matthew 25. As Allan goes, he is making disciples who love God and love their neighbours, helping transform the city of Brantford, ON, one person at a time.
