MISSION CANADA CAMPUS WORKER
Ministry Location: Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo, BC Ministry Focus: Campus Ministry
Robyn’s university career started at Vancouver Island University in 2014, but she didn’t know anything about University Christian Ministries (UCM) until she transferred to Simon Fraser University (SFU) in her second year. UCM became her home away from home as she was welcomed into a community of students who were also trying to figure out how their faith, academics, and life all fit together. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Honours Mathematics, she was very much an academic and career focused student.
Throughout Robyn’s degree, God was calling her to share His love with university students at every opportunity and she slowly found that she was on campus more to make disciples than to go to class. Upon graduation, Robyn had the opportunity to do ministry at SFU full time through the Campus Ministry Apprenticeship program, after which she and her husband moved back home so she could raise her daughter on the family farm. She is beyond excited to be back at her old campus!
Your donation enables Robyn to spend her days walking alongside students who are seekers as well as those who are Christ-followers at Vancouver Island University.
Thank you for your support.
Robyn is incredibly thankful for your partnership with her on the campus of Vancouver Island University. She deeply appreciates your response to God’s call to support this necessary ministry of reaching and discipling post-secondary students at this important time in their life. Robyn welcomes you to join her in praying for the students at VIU, particularly those who are lost and without faith, those who are deconstructing their faith, and those who are sick. If you’re local or happen to travel to the Greater Vancouver area, Robyn invites you to stop in to VIU and check out what they do, especially on a Thursday night.
Where do your donations go?
Your donation contributes to Robyn’s salary which she is incredibly grateful for. God is good to allow her to do the work that she cares about while also providing for her daughter.
