Jesus valued all peoples without regard to their ethnic backgrounds. He made a Samaritan the hero of one of His most popular and powerful parables. He ministered to women while lifting them up, prevented the sidelining of children, loved the bold faith of a Syrophoenician woman and a Roman centurion, and more. (cf. Luke 10:25-37; Mark 5:25-34; Matthew 19:14; Mark 7:24-29; Luke 7:1-10; John 4; Luke 17:11-19). He didn’t wear cultural blinders, nor did He prefer the able over those with health conditions or impairments.
And He sends you and me as His ambassadors to our neighbours, to those who’ve moved near from afar, and to go afar to reach those who have not come near. This is why many of our initiatives are called “Embracing Newcomers” as we seek to be like Jesus.
The Cultural Ministries priority is all about empowering us all to live out Jesus’ values with everyone we meet no matter where they’re from, how long they’ve lived here (or not), what is their first language (or second, or third or more!), educational level, religious background, or their citizenship status.
To do all this, we operate as both an Agency, mobilizing new workers cross-culturally all across Canada, and as a Network, connecting and resourcing our PAOC constituency nationwide.

We are in an unprecedented time for our nation. Yes, unprecedented. In 2021 we passed all historic recorded for immigration, even beating out the highest numbers during the Great Migration of 1815-1850. And these rates continue to increase.
And this is good news for the church in Canada! We're still a mission-sending nation, but we're also a mission-receiving nation and a mission field of our own. God is bringing the nations to Canada, and in His economy, its so they can hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
And we’re here to help you fulfill His “great commission” to reach the nations landing in Canada daily.
