Ministry Location: Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo, BC
Ministry Focus: Campus Ministry
Julie, originally from Rwanda, graduated from Vancouver Island University (VIU) with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, specializing in Microbiology. During her studies at VIU, Julie enjoyed being a part of the University Christian Ministries (UCM) club. The UCM community became her home away from home. It was a place where she met most of her closest friends, a place where she grew closer to God, and a place where she had amazing opportunities to serve God and her community.
As Julie neared the end of her studies, she felt called to serve with UCM beyond her education years on campus. She truly believes that God has so much in store for students during their time on campus, and she is so excited to be part of what He wants to do in and through students in these important years of their life.
Julie is especially excited to facilitate prayer and worship initiatives on campus for faculty, staff, and students, as well as collaborating with student housing to support students for Jesus' glory. He call us to love and serve one another, and this is what Julie wants to do at the VIU campus.
