MISSION CANADA CAMPUS WORKER
Ministry Location: Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC
Ministry Focus: Campus Ministry
Daniel Zander is a campus worker with University Christian Ministries (UCM) at Simon Fraser University (SFU). He was born in Chilliwack, British Columbia and moved to Edmonton, Alberta at a young age. Daniel feels called to proclaim the gospel to a world that is in desperate need of Jesus Christ. He has followed this calling to be a representative of Jesus to students at SFU.
UCM is an on-campus ministry that makes, matures, and mobilizes disciples on campus under the model of whole-life worship and students leading students. Through weekly large group Tuesday night worship gatherings, small group meetings, and social events scattered throughout the week, UCM is fostering a community of followers of Jesus on campus at SFU.
Daniel endeavors to oversee ministry to men at SFU through the intentional discipleship of male students and student leaders while also engaging outreach to SFU at large through Red Frogs, Alpha, and other evangelistic efforts on campus. He is focused on witnessing lives being transformed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing the students of SFU being led further into the abundant life of following Jesus, whether they have never heard the gospel or if they’ve spent years following Jesus already. Through campus ministry, Daniel hopes to exemplify the way of Jesus within student life, inviting students and peers to do likewise. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a focus on Pastoral Ministry from Vanguard College where he was equipped to effectively shepherd students in the way of Christ.
