Mission Canada Staff
Cal & Chrissy Krahn
Quebec and Francophone Canada Coordinators
Cal and Chrissy Krahn have been involved in both church and pastoral ministry and missions for more than 30 years, yet it is to those who are outside the church walls that they feel most drawn to. As Montreal-based urban workers with Mission Canada for the past four years, they care for people in their city who may be lonely, hurting or in need of a friend. This can be through their involvement with local food banks, sharing a meal or a coffee with someone, welcoming newcomers to Canada, or simply giving a granola bar to a person who's hungry. Spring and summer seasons find Cal and Chrissy busy hosting short-term mission teams from across the country, helping participants to engage in the community and to discover their own personal "God-calling".
When they aren't cheering on their favourite NFL team, they can be found leading worship, mentoring young couples, hosting friends for dinner, enjoying Montreal's vibrant music and arts culture or video chatting with their kids and grandkids. Cal and Chrissy also currently serve as the interim Quebec and Francophone Canada Coordinators.
Three Fun Things Cal and Chrissy Like About Canada:
- Multiculturalism - Canada is uniquely and wonderfully woven together by peoples from all around the world. We're a beautiful multicultural blend, working, playing, living and learning side-by-side.
- Canadian Anthem and Flag - Chrissy gets emotional anytime the anthem is sung "God keep our land, glorious and free".
Cal loves the simplicity and look of the flag and the fact that Canadians (for the most part) can travel safely around the world. - Montreal - Probably one of the best cities in the world! And definitely home of the best poutine!
