Job Description
The Following Duties and responsibilities are expectations from the Lead Pastor, but not limited to. In Any position, we first follow God, but also honor those in leadership roles.
A. Cast the vision for the direction of student ministries by setting and evaluating both short and long-term goals and review them annually with The Youth Pastor and/or Lead Pastor.
B. Be personally involved in teaching and discipling students.
C. Recruit and train volunteer lay adults as administrators, teachers, and leaders to assist, to teach, and educate the children and youth.
D. Research, recommend, and conduct training for parents, children’s workers, youth staff, and congregation.
E. Plan and execute social functions for both the Junior and Senior High on a monthly basis.
F. In coordination with the youth and leadership, establish a calendar of youth activities
G. Schedule retreats and camps for special spiritual emphasis throughout the year.
H. Be available to counsel teens as the need arises and seek to build mentoring relationships with them (e.g. home visits, lunches, visiting schools, sporting and musical events, etc).
I. Seek to evangelize youth outside of our church.
J. He will schedule times to recognize the promotion and/or spiritual milestones of students.
K. Provide opportunities for students to publicly and privately minister to the church body.
L. Attend church staff meetings and work cooperatively as a member of the Pastoral Staff team.
M. Give reports of ministries weekly to the Lead Pastor.
N. Be accountable for the general oversight of the youth budget providing a monthly report of income and expenditures to the Lead Pastor and provide updates to the Financial Secretary at the conclusion of various activities.
O. Have a continual desire to learn and develop in various areas to strengthen his ministry potential and minimize weaknesses.
P. Attend Tuesday Pastoral Staff meetings.
Q. Be Available for all major holiday services.
R. Attend PAOC Functions that the Lead Pastor Requires.
S. Help with Teen Camp / Makaway Camp In the Summer Season
T. Be Available and ready as a team player, and a reliable member for the Lead Pastor.
Required Skills
A. An authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to help youth develop their Christian worldview and grow as fully-devoted disciples.
B. A Degree in Theology.
C. Creativity and care in planning, developing financial donors, and carrying out responsibilities.
D. Ability to relate well to a variety of people (students, teams, parents, staff, etc.).
E. Knowledge of appropriate classroom management procedures, child protection policies, and a willingness to work with any individual student’s needs.
F. Displays personal openness, integrity and honesty.
G. Excels in administrative leadership; ability to make decisions; able to coordinate activities/events.
H. Be or Become Credentialed with PAOC
Education Required
Diploma or Bachelors in Theology
Experience Required
