Family Ministries Pastor
Bathurst New Brunswick, Canada
Jun 27, 2018 Permanent PAOC Credentials Required
Accountability The pastor of family ministries will report directly to the lead pastor. Qualifications The successful candidate must have completed a three-year diploma or four-year degree program in theology/pastoral ministry or possess some equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must have or be eligible for credentials with the PAOC. A working knowledge of the French language would be an asset. Responsibilities 1. Youth Outreach and Discipleship [50%—20 hours/week] This is not just about running programs. We need someone who is self-motivated and has a passion to reach unchurched teens with the good news of Jesus. This will necessitate community involvement according to the pastor’s particular gifts or skills: e.g.: sports coaching, skateboarding, music training, etc. It is expected that there would also be a weekly gathering for teens where discipleship takes place through teaching, music, relationship building, etc. 2. Children’s Ministry [20%—8 hours/week] This would be more of an oversight role as we have teams in place currently doing these ministries, but could grow as the ministries grow. Work with the teams to ensure quality children’s programs on a weekly basis for kids ages 0-12 including Nursery, Toddler Room, Konnect Kids (Sundays) and Kids JAM (Mid-week Outreach). Support and encourage the leaders as required, ensure that Plan To Protect Policy is being carried out at all levels, and give leadership to any major seasonal kids outreaches. 3. Preaching [10%—4 hours/week] Preach a minimum of twice per month in Sunday services. 4. Media/Promotions & Communication [5%—2 hours/week] Develop promotional material for upcoming church events and preaching series. Help manage and update content on website and social media. 5. Flex (Misc. Pastoral Tasks/Special Interest Tasks) [15%—6 hours/week] Staff meetings, community lunch participation, board meetings, vision casting, personal growth and development, continuing education, prayer, special interest projects as approved or assigned by the lead pastor, etc.
